Facelift surgery, also known as "rhytidectomy," can be a beneficial surgery for men or women typically over the age of 40 who may be begin noticing changes in the appearance of his or her face, such as:
- Sagging of the cheeks and neck
- Wrinkles of skin of face and neck
- Fat of neck or "double chin"
- Loss of skin elasticity
By creating incisions under the chin and within the natural folds along the front and back of the ears, and into the hairline, Dr. Young can suction fat from the neck, tighten the neck muscles and deep tissues of the face, and remove excess skin for a smoother, younger facial appearance and neck profile. With bruising and swelling usually subsiding within 10 to 14 days after surgery, patients may then apply cover-up makeup to help disguise any further discoloration.
A long-lasting solution for patients wishing to achieve a more youthful look, facelift surgery results can "turn back the clock" anywhere from five to ten years, and last as long as seven to 10 years.
